Misterioso Quartet came into existence after two memorable nights playing at Rome’s famous jazz club Alexander Platz in 2019.

Saxophone maestro Stefano Di Battista was featured on both nights.

From the outset, there was a special chemistry between the musicians.

Saxophonist Brandon Allen and drummer Enzo Zirilli have had a long standing musical relationship, performing together in the UK and Italy for over 15 years.

The group plans to perform extensively throughout Italy and in other parts of Europe

Misterioso Quartet will be performing new interpretations of Thelonious Monk’s music.

The quartet will also premiere brand new original compositions written specifically for this lineup.

Brandon Allen is best known as the saxophonist with the Kyle Eastwood Band, touring internationally.
He also leads his own groups including the Stanley Turrentine Project and the Brandon Allen Sextet.
He has performed with Eric Clapton, Paloma Faith, Tony Lakatos, Adam Nussbaum, Ronnie Cuber and many others.

Enzo Zirilli has established himself as one of Italy’s most explosive and versatile drummers.
He has performed with Dado Moroni, Steve Grossman, Paolo Fresu, Randy Brecker, Enrico Rava and many more.

The quartet is completed by Andrea Rea on piano and Dario Roscglione on bass.
